Paintings by Dorothy Crawley
Dorothy Crawley's vibrant landscapes and still lifes explore the visual poetry of a wide range of subjects, from the intimate and familiar to the dramatic and exotic. Born in Brunswick, Georgia, Crawley -- like her father and grandfather -- has drawn and painted all her life. After graduating from the University of Georgia in Athens, she married, moved to Atlanta, and raised a family. When her three children were grown, Crawley took up painting seriously again, working first in watercolors and then in oils. She has received a number of awards, including first place at the Piedmont Driving Club Spring Art Show in 2008, and has participated in group shows at the Capital City Club, the Chasten Park Art Gallery, the Anne Irwin Gallery and the Swan Coach House Gallery.
